Maddie DeCerbo joined Marybeth Freeman’s field hockey staff as the director of operations in July, 2017. DeCerbo is a 2015 graduate of the University of Virginia, and is pursuing a master’s degree in geography and urban studies during her time at Temple.
DeCerbo was a four-year starter at UVa, and helped lead the Cavaliers to their first-ever ACC regular season title as a senior and team co-captain in 2014. She was a two-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree, and helped the Hoos advance to the NCAA Elite Eight in her sophomore season. DeCerbo also earned ACC Academic Honor Roll recognition in all four years of her career, served as a student-athlete mentor, and was a volunteer with the Athletes Committed to Education group, serving as a role model for youth in the Charlottesville local schools.
Following graduation, DeCerbo moved to Perth, Australia, and gained international playing experience with the West Side Wolves club team in the Hockey WA Premier league.
DeCerbo graduated from the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy in the spring of 2015. After returning from Australia, she worked for a private equity start up in Philadelphia.
