Kristen Cole joined the Temple Athletics staff in June 2022 as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. She oversees all training aspects for women's volleyball, women's soccer and men and women's cross country.
Cole came to Temple after spending August 2020- May 2022 at Stony Brook University, starting as an intern and was promoted to an Assistant Athletic Performance Coach in January of 2021. There she worked specifically with football, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s track and field, women’s swimming and diving and women’s volleyball. She graduated from Stony Brook in May of 2022 with her Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Coaching.
In May of 2020 she graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a minor in Strength and Conditioning. Cole spent her time there working as a student intern in the Athletic Training Program in her first year at UD working with women’s volleyball and soccer, men’s ice hockey, football and men’s lacrosse. She also volunteered as a PT aide at the UD Physical Therapy Clinic (in both the Sports and Orthopedic clinic and the Neurological and Older Adults clinic) during her time at UD. In her final year at UD she began an internship at the start of the spring semester at Alpha Training in Newark, DE before it closed due to the pandemic. She coached all age group programs ranging from youth to local college athletes.
Cole is a Long Island native, graduated from Sachem East High School in 2016 where she played field hockey and ran winter and spring track. She was a part of the 2-time State Champion, 3 time Long Island Champion, 3 time Suffolk County Champion field hockey team as a midfielder/defender. As for track, Cole was a long sprinter specializing in the 400m and 600m, and was a 55m, 100m, and 400m hurdler.
Cole is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and is CPR/AED certified through the American Red Cross. Aditionally, Cole is certified through the CSCCa with her SCCC and have obtained her USAW-Level 1 certification as well.
