TEMPLE VOLLEYBALL FLIES PAST DAYTON TO PUSH WIN STREAK TO EIGHT

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple volleyball team (15-5, 6-0 A-10) defeated Dayton (15-5, 4-2) three games to none in a key Atlantic 10 Conference match on October 18 at McGonigle Hall. The game scores were 30-20, 30-24 and 30-22 as the Owls out-hit the Flyers .336 to .158.

Junior outside hitter Xu Yun led Temple with a match-high 17 kills. Fellow junior Liu Shu (14 kills) was the only other Owl with double digit kill numbers. Sophomore setter Alison Runk had a match-high 38 assists for the Cherry and White.

Shannon Gardner led Dayton with seven kills. Kelly Scott (12 assists) and Nicole Schott (11 assists) set things up for the Flyers.

Next up for Temple, another crucial conference home match on Saturday, October 19 against Xavier. The Musketeers were 4-1 in Atlantic 10 play entering the weekend. Match time is 4:00 p.m.
