QUEST FOR 13 PROVES UNLUCKY AS TEMPLE VOLLEYBALL IS UPSET BY XAVIER

Temple led game one by a score of 27-23 before Xavier mounted a comeback to win 31-29. The Owls then rallied to win games two and three by scores of 30-20 and 30-26 before Xavier would take control in game four and break open a 15-15 tie by forcing Owls into two errors and eventually win by a score of 30-23 forcing a fifth and deciding game.
In game five, Xavier jumped out to a 11-9 lead and never looked back winning the decisive game 15-11 to take the match 3-2.
Atlantic 10 Player of the Year candidate junior Xu Yun led Temple with a match-high 26 kills and 14 digs. Fellow juniors Yamit Haba (17 kills, 14 digs) and Liu Shu (13 kills) also were key contributors for the Owls. Sophomore Alison Runk dished out a match-high 64 assists.
Katie Wygant would end the night with 20 kills and 15 digs to lead Xavier in each category.
The Owls continue their Ohio road trip with a match at Dayton on Saturday, November 16. Match time is 4:00 p.m.
