SERIES HISTORY
This is the 43rd meeting between Temple and Rutgers, with Rutgers holding a strong advantage in the all-time series at 33-9. The Scarlet Knights have won the last three meetings, including a 64-60 win in Philly a year ago. Temple's last win was at Rutgers on Jan. 19, 2006, 48-47.

RECAP OF THE SEASON SO FAR...
Temple was a perfect 5-0 to start the season, with a comeback win in overtime vs. Illinois followed by victories over Auburn, Dartmouth, Buffalo and Eastern Michigan. Hartford's three-point shooting was the Owls' downfall in their loss to the Hawks, and Temple cut a 20-point margin down to 10 but could come no closer.

Junior Shaqwedia Wallace is leading the Owls so far with 17.2 points per game, while senior Jasmine Stone leads the team in rebounds at 8.8 per game. Stone came off the bench for a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds in TU's win at Dartmouth, and recently recorded a second double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds at Hartford.

Sophomore Kristen McCarthy, a preseason A-10 third team pick, is the second-leading scorer to Wallace with 11.5 points per game. Joining Wallace and McCarthy in the starting lineup has been senior LaKeisha Eaddy (7.0 ppg, 4.2 apg), junior Marli Bennett (6.0 ppg, 4.2 rpg) and freshman Natasha Thames (4.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg).

SCOUTING RUTGERS
Rutgers is coming off a 2-1 weekend at the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where the Scarlet Knights earned a 66-51 win vs. Southern California and a 62-54 win vs. #19 Mississippi State before falling on a last-second shot to #13 Texas, 70-67.

Senior Brittany Ray (team-leading 15 ppg this season) was named the Tournament MVP, and Rutgers was the winner of its division by virtue of a tie-breaker. Sophomore Chelsey Lee (team-leading 7.1 rpg this season) was also named to the All-Tournament Team.

Rutgers has lost only to ranked teams so far (along with defeating one), falling to #2 Stanford in its season-opener, and also losing to #16 Georgia.

HOT START
Temple was 5-0 to start the season for the first time in four years, since the 2005-06 team started 6-0 before losing their seventh game at Florida.

SIBLING RIVALRY
Temple and Rutgers have quite a storied rivalry. In the 2004-05 season, Rutgers gave Temple its first win over a ranked opponent in 18 years and then returned the favor by knocking the Owls out of the NCAA Tournament Second Round and ending their 25-game winning streak. In the 2005-06 season, it was Temple's time to shine, as the then-#21 Owls defeated the then-#9 Scarlet Knights, 48-47, for TU's first win over a Top 10 opponent.  The victory also ended a RU 20-home game winning streak.

NEXT STOP, #1
Prior to Temple's game vs. Eastern Michigan, LaKeisha Eaddy needed just two assists to rank second all-time in career assists at Temple. She got them, and currently stands in second with 400 assists. Eaddy is on pace to take over the top spot by the end of her career, currently held by Donna Kennedy (1979-83) with 507. Eaddy began with a bang in TU's season opener, dishing out a game-high 10 assists in the overtime win.

SPARK OFF THE BENCH
Senior Jasmine Stone has been playing the role of the Owls' “spark off the bench,” and playing it well. Stone is third on the team with 8.3 ppg, and first in rebounds at 8.8 per game, which is currently tied for second among all players in the A-10.

Stone averaged a double-double in last week's two contests, with 11 points and 9 boards vs. EMU and 11 points along with 13 rebounds at Hartford.

For her efforts last week, Stone was named to the Big 5 Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

TAKING IT AWAY
Senior LaKeisha Eaddy ranked 21st in the nation with 2.8 steals per game last season, and is currently eighth on the all-time career steals list at Temple with 194. She needs only four to take over the seventh spot.

Eaddy recorded four steals in the first five minutes of Temple's win at Dartmouth, and went on to finish with a career-high eight steals in the contest.

HIDE YOUR VALUABLES
The Owls have a knack for coming up with the ball and forcing turnovers, as evidenced by their 12.7 steals per game which is tops in the A-10. Temple's 20 team steals at Dartmouth were the most in a single game for any A-10 team so far this season.

Temple has two players ranked in the top three in steals, with Kristen McCarthy and Shaqwedia Wallace tied for third at 2.5 spg.

EVERYONE UP TO THE TASK
While Shaqwedia Wallace has led Temple in scoring in five of its six games, the offense has not relied on her exclusively. Kristen McCarthy has scored in double figures in all but the Hartford game, and in TU's win vs. Eastern Michigan, four players scored in double figures. At Dartmouth, all nine of TU's active players scored, with seven scoring six points or more.

MAKING MORE THAN HALF
Junior Marli Bennett, a starting forward for the Owls, is making more than half of the shots she takes at 54 percent so far this season. Bennett is 14-for-26 from the field, including a 4-of-5 performance vs. Auburn and a 4-of-6 outing vs. Eastern Michigan.

RPI IN THE TOP 20
Temple is currently 15th in the nation in RPI according to realtimerpi.com and 16th in the nation according to CollegeRPI.com.

NEXT UP...
Temple will have the weekend off from competition before traveling to Hampton for a 7:00 p.m. contest on Tuesday, Dec. 8. The Owls will play three games in five days starting with that game, facing Ohio at home on Dec. 10 and Kent State on the road Dec. 12.
