Field Hockey Announces Newest Members Of 2009 Squad

PHILADELPHIA - Temple field hockey coach Amanda Janney has announced the signing of a Lauren Ujobai as a member of the Class of 2013, as well as the addition of graduate assistant coach Kelsey Nickles and volunteer assistant coach Megan Davidson.
Ujobai, a native of Royersford, Pa., was the captain of her Spring-Ford High School team her senior year, and was named a member of the All-Area Defense team the same season. Selected to the Philadelphia All-Star game last season, Ujobai was a two-time second team All PAC-10 Defense team honoree. Also a three-year letter winner in lacrosse, the midfielder plans to enter Temple's Nursing program in the fall.
A recent University of Pennsylvania graduate (B.A. Geology, May '08), Nickles was a four-year letter winner and helped lead the Quakers to a 2004 Co-Ivy League Championship. A starter of 24 games in her career at Penn, Nickles joins TU's staff as a graduate assistant coach.
Davidson comes to Temple from Columbia, where she was captain of her senior squad. A starter of all 68 games in her career, the Sinking Spring, Pa. native was named first team All-Ivy League her senior season. Davidson will join the Owls as a volunteer assistant coach, while she will be working for Teach for America in Philadelphia.
