PHILADELPHIA
- The Temple women's basketball team will play its first Atlantic 10 home game on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 7:00 p.m. against Fordham in McGonigle Hall. Fans can watch a live webcast of the game at OwlAccess on OwlSports.com.

After starting the season 9-1, Temple has struggled against some tough opponents recently and lost four of its last five contests. Three of those losses were to top-15 teams Duke, Florida State and Xavier. The first two were games in which Temple held a lead at some point in the second half.

The Owls are 0-1 in the Atlantic 10 after a loss at Xavier this past Sunday. Temple had upset the Musketeers at home last season, but failed to pull off a second-straight upset, losing 82-69 despite sinking a school-record 13 three-pointers.

Junior Qwedia Wallace and sophomore Kristen McCarthy lead the Owls with 13.0 and 12.8 points per game, respectively. Senior Jasmine Stone leads the team in rebounds at 8.5 per game, good enough for fifth place in the A-10. Stone is also currently the highest-percentage shooter on the team at 44 percent from the field. Wallace leads from behind the arc at 38 percent.

SCOUTING FORDHAM
Fordham started the season well at 6-3, but has now lost seven straight including its A-10 opener at Saint Joseph's. A number of the losses have been close, and seven of the Rams' 10 losses have been by seven points or fewer. Three players average double figures in scoring for Fordham, led by Randall Hurst at 15.8 points per game along with a team-best 6.7 rebounds per game.

SERIES RECORD
Temple has a 20-4 advantage in the all-time series against Fordham, and has won the last 15 straight. The last time the Rams earned a win was in a one-point victory, 79-78 in January of 2000.

MCCARTHY NOT BACKING DOWN
Sophomore Kristen McCarthy had three of the best performances of her career in Temple's past three games against top-15 teams. She averaged 21 points and 6.3 rebounds over the 0-3 stretch for Temple, shooting 48 percent from the field and 47.8 percent from three-point range.

McCarthy scored 16 points vs. Duke, recorded a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds at Florida State, and put up a career-high 28 points at Xavier.

SCHOOL RECORD 13 THREE-POINTERS
Temple drained 13 three-pointers in its loss to Xavier on Jan. 10, setting the school record for treys in a single game. The previous record of 12 had been achieved three times, most recently last year at Central Michigan.

The 13 three's also rank as the most in a single game for any A-10 team this season.

HANGING TOUGH VS. DUKE & FLORIDA STATE
They didn't win either game, but the Owls showed they can compete with some of the best in their games vs. Duke and Florida State. Against #8/9 Duke, Temple lost by only eight points, and held a lead as late as the eight-minute mark of the second half.

At Florida State, the Owls led halfway through the second half after erasing a 13-point first-half deficit, but could not complete the comeback and lost, 77-64.

HOT START
Temple's 9-1 start matched the best in the last 28 years, since the 1981-82 team started at 9-0.

BATTLE OF THE BOARDS
Temple hung tough with #8/9 Duke, but ultimately lost on the glass. Duke earned a 40-27 edge in rebounds, leading to a 20-9 advantage in second chance points.

NOW ACCEPTING CHARITY
Temple did not shoot above 70 percent from the free throw line in five of its first eight games, but the Owls have improved drastically since then. Temple has averaged 72.4 percent shooting from the charity stripe in its last six games, going 92-of-127 from the line.

MACAULAY ON THE RISE
True freshman Victoria Macaulay has averaged only 10.5 minutes per game overall this season, but has played a much bigger role in Temple's last four games. She has averaged 6.8 points per game in 18.5 minutes per game over those four, and has shot 50 percent from the field.

HEIGHTENED SECURITY
Temple has held 10 of its 15 opponents this season to 55 points or fewer, and currently ranks 44th in NCAA Division I in scoring defense at 57.2 ppg.

HIDE YOUR VALUABLES
The Owls have a knack for coming up with the ball and forcing turnovers, as evidenced by their 11.1 steals per game which is second in the A-10 and 35th in NCAA Division I. Temple's 20 team steals at Dartmouth were the most in a single game for any A-10 team so far this season.

RPI REPORT
Temple is currently 36th in the nation in RPI according to CollegeRPI.com, and 26th according to realtimerpi.com.
