Field Hockey Set to Host the Temple Invitational on Saturday and Sunday

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Temple field hockey team will open the 2010 season at home this weekend when the Owls host the Temple Invitational at Geasey Field. Fans can pay $3.00 for one day of action or $4.00 for a two-day pass.

The action begins on Saturday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. with a contest between #3 Virginia and Saint Joseph's. Temple will face Bucknell at 1:00 p.m.

On Sunday, Geasey Field will play host to a neutral match between #2 Maryland and Villanova at 11:00 a.m., and Bucknell will play Saint Joseph's at 1:00 p.m. The invitational concludes with Temple taking on Fairfield at 3:00 p.m.

Temple Head Coach Amanda Janney returns for her sixth season with the program after leading the Owls to the championship game of the 2009 Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament.

The home schedule is packed for the Owls in 2010, as Temple will play 13 of its 20 regular season games at home on Geasey Field. After this weekend's contests, admission for the remainder of the regular season will be free.

Temple is hosting this year's A-10 Tournament, which will take place November 5-6.
