Bridget Settles Selected to Play in NFHCA Division I Senior Game on November 19

Senior and leading scorer will represent Temple in the annual game
PHILADELPHIA - Senior forward and team co-captain Bridget Settles of the Temple field hockey team has been selected to participate in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Senior Game on Nov. 19. Thirty-eight Division I players earned the honor to play in the game, which will be held at the University of Louisville at 3:00 p.m. on that Saturday.
Settles is the sixth senior in five years to be selected to represent the Owls in the game. She is one of only two Atlantic 10 players selected for the honor this year, along with Massachusetts' Alesha Widdall. This year's Senior Game participants will face off against the U.S. Women's National Team as well as against each other in a series of four, 25-minute sessions. Settles and her teammates recently clinched Temple's ninth consecutive Atlantic 10 Tournament berth, and the third-seeded Owls will play second-seeded UMass at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4 at Saint Joseph's.
The other semifinal game has top-seeded Richmond facing fourth-seeded La Salle; both teams the Owls beat in the regular season. Should Temple advance, they would play the winner of that game at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Settles leads the Owls in goals (18), points (40), shots (77), and shots on goal (46), and has scored six game-winning goals this season, all of which also lead all players in the A-10 Conference. Her 18 goals rank her 18th in the nation in goals per game at 0.90. Settles ranks in a tie for second on the team in assists with four, and has taken home three A-10 Performer of the Week honors this season.
