Millen also earns OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week honors
PHILADELPHIA - Temple field hockey redshirt freshman Lizzy Millen was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Atlantic 10 Tournament last weekend, despite Temple finishing as runner-up, due to her outstanding play in goal for the Owls' 1-1 weekend. In the championship, Richmond controlled the offense for nearly the entire game, forcing Millen to play the game of her life to keep the Owls in it, which is exactly what she did.
In Temple's A-10 semifinal win against UMass, Millen made three saves to help preserve third-seeded Temple's shutout in the 4-0 victory over second-seeded UMass. Millen followed up that performance by making a career-high 11 saves in Temple's 1-0 loss to top-seeded Richmond in the championship game, and along with earning Most Outstanding Player honors, she was named to the A-10 All-Tournament Team.
Millen was also selected the OwlSports.com Under Armour Athlete of the Week for her performance at the A-10 Tournament.
