Game Notes

WASHINGTON, DC -
A trip to the nation's capitol marks the second contest in a three-game road trip for #24/24 Temple, as the Owls take on Atlantic 10 foe George Washington on Saturday afternoon (2:00 p.m./CSN/1210 AM WPHT). Temple sits second in the conference standings with a record of 21-6 overall, 11-2 in A-10 play while GW (15-12) is tied for fifth in the league with an 8-5 mark.

Temple, under the direction of fifth-year head coach Fran Dunphy, saw its eight-game win streak snapped with a 78-61 loss to top-ranked Duke Wednesday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The undermanned Owls played without two of their regular starters in senior Micheal Eric and junior Scootie Randall. Eric is done for the season with a fractured right patella while Randall, who suffered a right foot injury on Feb. 17, is expected to return before the end of the season.

Junior guard Ramone Moore continues to pace the Temple attack, leading the team and ranking 10th in the A-10 in scoring (15.1 ppg.). The Philadelphia native also ranks second on the team in assists (3.3 apg.) and steals (1.3 spg.). Senior Lavoy Allen (10.9 ppg.) tops the Owls in rebounding (7.2 rpg) and recorded his seventh double-double (17 pts, 13 rebs) of the season against Duke. The school's all-time rebound leader also leads Temple and ranks fifth in the league in blocked shots (1.7 bpg.).

Junior guard Juan Fernandez (10.1 ppg,) leads the team in assists (3.9 apg.) while sophomore forward Rahlir Jefferson (5.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg.) and freshman guard Aaron Brown (2.3 ppg.) round out the starting five. Sophomore guard Khalif Wyatt, a candidate for A-10 Sixth Man of the Year, gives the Owls a spark off the bench with his 9.0 points per game and team-leading 41.3 percent from three-point range.

George Washington, under the direction of 10th-year head coach Karl Hobbs, is coming off of a 74-57 win over Charlotte on Wednesday. The Colonials are led in scoring by junior guard Tony Taylor (14.7 ppg.), the lone player to average in double-figures for George Washington. Freshman foward Nemanja Mikic leads the conference in three-pointers made (2.7 3pt-pg.), while sophomore forward David Pellom leads the team in rebounding (5.3 rpg.).

Temple has won the last three meetings and leads the all-time series with a record of 49-16.
