Katie Briglia and Amber Youtz Named to Longstreth/NFHCA All-Region Second Team

PHILADELPHIA - The honors continue to add up for Temple field hockey's Katie Briglia and Amber Youtz, who have now been named to the Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Region Second Team, representing the Mid-Atlantic Region. Youtz was recently named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year, and Briglia earned A-10 First Team honors for a third straight season.
Briglia and Youtz, named to this year's A-10 All-Championship Team, were Temple's two goal-scorers in the Owls' A-10 semifinal game against UMass and were standouts all season long. Youtz finished her sophomore season with 22 goals and 10 assists for 54 total points. Her point total ranks fifth all-time in a single season at Temple, while her goal total ranks sixth all-time in single-season goals.
With 11 assists in her senior season, Briglia led the team and narrowly missed breaking onto the all-time single season list. She also scored seven goals including two game-winners. Briglia will represent Temple in the NFHCA Senior Game at Old Dominion University on Nov. 17, continuing a tradition of the Owls' seniors being among the 38 student-athletes selected to participate.
