Field Hockey Team Among Division I Most Improved in 2012

11.27.12 | Field Hockey

PHILADELPHIA - With a record of 12-9 in 2012, Temple field hockey had three more wins and four fewer losses than the year before which ranks the Owls among the nation's most improved teams. The NCAA released the list of 37 teams HERE, with Temple ranking in a tie for 11th based on the statistical calculation.

As explained underneath the list of team names, to determine games improved, add the difference in victories between the two seasons to the difference in losses, then divide by two. (Includes postseason)

The Owls made a 10th straight appearance in the Atlantic 10 Tournament after placing third in the conference, and for a second year in a row a Temple player was named the A-10 Offensive Player of the Year (Amber Youtz). Both Youtz, a sophomore, and senior Katie Briglia earned A-10 First Team honors and All-Region Second Team honors. Youtz was also recently tabbed a Third Team All-American by Synapse Sports.
