Student-athletes and other Temple students make their case for fair funding for the University

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Representatives from Temple field hockey, track & field, volleyball and women's rowing were part of a contingent of students who visited the State Capitol in Harrisburg today to showcase the talents and works of Temple students and advocate for fair funding for the University.  It was the third day of visits by Temple students, with Monday's trip showcasing undergraduate research, Tuesday serving as Cherry & White Day and today's theme being Arts and Athletics Day.

Representing field hockey were freshman Nicole Kroener along with assistant coaches Charise Young and Kelly Driscoll. The trio spent time in the lobby of the Capitol Building talking with state representatives about Temple and the sport of field hockey. They answered questions about the basics of the sport and Kroener demonstrated some basic skills.

"It was a great day to show support and represent Temple University," said Driscoll. "Nicole did a wonderful job representing our team!"
