COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Four members of the Temple field hockey team, along with head coach Amanda Janney, helped Team New Jersey take its fourth consecutive title at the Women's National Championship held at the University of Maryland this past weekend. Molly Doyle, Nicole Kroener, Lizzy Millen and Amber Youtz all had a part in the success of New Jersey, which went undefeated at 5-0 including a shutout, 4-0 win vs. Pennsylvania in the title game.
Janney, who served as an assistant coach for the team, said all four players got significant playing time over the course of the week. In particular, Janney was proud of Millen, who battled back from illness to play in the second half of the final three games and made some big saves. "I was really proud of our defensive shutout in the championship," said Janney, "and Lizzy and Molly were a big part of that."
