NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Temple's Amber Youtz was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week for games played Sept. 17-23, as announced Monday by the league office. Lock Haven's Molly Urey earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Youtz, a sophomore forward, earned Player of the Week honors after posting a total of 13 points this past week in leading the Owls to wins against Colgate, 7-3, and Bucknell, 5-4. The Dauphin, Pa., native scored the first goal of the game against Colgate, and later scored the final two goals to secure the win. Youtz then scored the first goal of the game against Bucknell, and tallied an additional two goals and one assist, bringing Temple's overall record to 5-5.

The two hat tricks for Youtz were the first two of her career, and Saturday's hat trick vs. Colgate was the first for an Owl since Sept. of 2011.

Youtz is currently ranked sixth among all players in NCAA Division I in goals per game (1.20) and is tied for fifth in points per game (3.00).

For her efforts, Youtz was also named the Under Armour OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week.

Urey, a freshman forward, earned Rookie of the Week accolades after recording five points against NEC opponent Rider. The Dillsburg, Pa., native scored all five points in the second half of the match, leading the Lady Eagles to a 5-2 victory over Rider.
