Men's Basketball Travels To George Washington for Wednesday Game

WASHINGTON - The Temple men's basketball team travels down I-95 for a Wednesday game against George Washington at the Smith Center. The game, which tips at 7:00 p.m., will be televised live by Comcast SportsNet and broadcast on 1210 AM WPHT.
The Owls (11-4, 1-1 A10), under the direction of head coach Fran Dunphy, are led by senior guard Khalif Wyatt. One of the top scorers in the conference (5th), Wyatt averages 16.0 points per game while also topping the team in assists (3.9 apg./9th A10). Sophomore forward Anthony Lee, who is the reigning Big 5 Player of the Week, is second on the squad in scoring (12.2 ppg., 7.3 rpg.) while senior swingman Scootie Randall (11.9 ppg.) leads the team in rebounding (7.5 rpg.).
Senior forward Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson (8.7 ppg., 5.5 rpg.), named today as one of the Top 10 “Glue Guys” in college basketball by cbssports.com, is second on the team in assists (50) and steals (26) while sophomore guard Will Cummings (6.0 ppg.), leads TU in steals (28).
Graduates Jake O'Brien (7.0 ppg.) and T.J. DiLeo (2.7 ppg.) are the top reserves with junior Dalton Pepper (2.2 ppg.) and freshman Quenton DeCosey (2.8 ppg.) rounding out the Owls' nine-man rotation.
George Washington, under the direction of head coach Mike Lonergan, has won three of its last five to stand at 7-8 overall and 1-1 in league play. The Colonials sport one of the youngest teams in the nation. Seniors Isaiah Armwood (12.2 ppg.) and Lasan Kromah (9.9 ppg.) lead a balanced attack which includes three freshmen – Patricio Garino (9.7 ppg.), Kevin Larsen (7.3 ppg.) and Joe McDonald (6.7 ppg.) – among the starting five.
Temple leads the all-time series, 51-16, and has won the last five meetings.
