EASTON, Pa. - Rallying back from an early deficit, #17 Temple field hockey scored three goals in a 10-minute span of the first half to take a 3-2 lead at Lafayette (6-10) that would hold as the final score. The Owls (14-4) got a goal apiece from Amber Youtz, Rachel Steinman and Tricia Light to win their fourth straight game.
The win was a special one for Temple, as it marked the 100th career victory for ninth-year head coach Amanda Janney. She becomes the third coach in the history of the program to reach that milestone.

Temple had to play from behind after two early goals from the Leopards. Lafayette's first goal came less than five minutes into the game on a corner, and Kendall Wheedling scored the second for her team in the 12th minute on a rebound.
Two and a half minutes after the Owls had fallen into a 2-0 hole, Youtz broke through from the left side and got one back.Â
Exactly one minute later, Steinman scored on a deflection to tie the game in the 15th minute. Before long, Light capped the 3-0 run for the Owls when her shot from the left side, with an assist from Youtz, got past Lafayette keeper Katelyn Arnold. Light's goal would prove to be the game-winner, with Youtz recording the game-winning assist.
The 3-2 lead stood through halftime thanks to some strong defense in the closing minutes of the first half, which included Lizzy Millen's third save of the game. The save came on one of two back-to-back penalty corners for Lafayette, and another shot by Millen's sister Hannah was blocked by the Owls.
Despite four penalty corners for Temple and three for Lafayette in the second half, the game was scoreless through those 35 minutes. Millen and replacement Lafayette keeper Jessica Deutsch had to make just one save apiece as neither team could get anything going offensively.
The Owls will play just one game next week, and it will be their final contest of the regular season. Temple will travel to #4 Connecticut for a noon matchup on Saturday, Nov. 2. Although the Owls have clinched a spot in the BIG EAST Tournament, the outcome of Saturday's game will have an effect on the seeding of the four teams.
