NFHCA Coaches Poll (Oct. 29)

PHILADELPHIA - Riding a four-game win streak heading into the final game of the regular season, Temple field hockey remains ranked at #17 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll. The Owls (14-4) have now been ranked for eight straight weeks and are one of four BIG EAST teams in the Top 20.

Three of Temple's losses are to teams ranked above them in the poll, including Old Dominion who now stands at #5 after a 3-1 upset of #1 Maryland and a 5-0 upset of then-#4 Connecticut. The Huskies, Temple's next opponent, now stand at #8. The Owls will travel to UConn for their final regular season game on Saturday, Nov. 2 at noon.

Louisville is also ranked, coming in at #14 this week. The four ranked BIG EAST teams have all clinched berths in the four-team BIG EAST Tournament, set for Nov. 8 and 10 at Connecticut.

Leading the way for Temple is reigning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for a second time, junior forward Amber Youtz. Youtz currently leads all players in NCAA Division I in goals per game (1.14) and points per game (2.79). She is also moving up the ranks on the all-time career lists at Temple in only her junior year. With 103 career points, Youtz is tied with her former teammate Bridget Settles for fifth all-time, and with 42 goals she sits just behind Settles in career goals, ranking seventh all-time.  This season, Youtz has scored a conference-best 16 goals to go with seven assists.

Temple goalkeeper Lizzy Millen has recorded five shutouts this season, and currently ranks fourth in the nation in saves percentage at .815. She also ranks ninth nationally in goals against average at 1.21.
