VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Molly Doyle found success while playing with the best in the nation, scoring a goal for her team in the NFHCA Senior Game on Saturday, Nov. 23. Doyle was one of 38 seniors in the country selected to play in the annual game, held in conjunction with the NCAA Field Hockey Championships.
Pictured above is Doyle and Temple head coach Amanda Janney, along with fellow BIG EAST seniors and coaches from ODU and Rutgers. Two seniors from UConn were also selected, but the Huskies have continued to find success since defeating Temple in the BIG EAST Tournament, and will be playing for the national title on Sunday.Â
Doyle, who played defense for the Owls, got to switch things up by playing forward in the Senior Game. She was honored to have the chance to play with the nation's best seniors, and grateful to her Temple coaches for their support.
"It was such an honor and a privilege to be able to represent Temple at the NFHCA game," said Doyle. "To be able to play with some of the top seniors from different schools all over the country was so surreal, and definitely an experience I won't ever forget. The game itself was really fun. I got to play on the forward line which was a nice change of pace for me!
"Also the support from AJ, Kelly, and Danica was commensurate with the entire year, as they drove five plus hours and braved the cold to watch me play. It was an awesome experience, a great way to finish out my career."Â
