ASHEVILLE, N.C.— Looking to break a four-game losing streak, Temple Baseball hits the road for the fourth consecutive weekend. This time around, the Owls head to UNC Asheville, where they will open a three-game series on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Greenwood Field.

Temple will try to rebound from being swept at Old Dominion last week. In the final game of the series against the Monarchs, sophomore left-handed pitcher Patrick Peterson proved to be the Owls' most dominant starter, as he went six strong innings, through which he allowed two runs on four hits, while striking out four.  That effort has attributed to him getting the ball in the opening game of the series against UNC Asheville. Opposing him will be Dean Roland, who will be trying for his first win of the year. The Bulldog right is 0-3 with a 4.50 ERA.

Second-year head coach Ryan Wheeler will send Patrick's twin brother, Eric Peterson, out to the mound for Saturday's 2:00 p.m. start against right-hander Tommy Houmard and will determine later in the weekend who will start for the Owls on Sunday for the series finale.

TU's offensive leader, sophomore Nick Lustrino enters the weekend on an eight-game hitting streak to start the season. Lustrino is currently first in the nation with a .629 on base percentage, while being tied for fifth in the nation with his .500 batting average.  The Owls' shortstop batted 4-for-9, with a triple, three walks and drove in a run against Old Dominion last weekend.  Senior Jordan Queja is also off to a consistent start, as he has reached base safely in all eight games. Queja has walked nine times in eight games and has pounded out five hits.

Senior cleanup hitter Henry Knabe has been strong at the dish, owning a .375 batting average after going 9-for-24 in his at bats.  So far this season, he has smashed one home run, scored four runs, and knocked in six runs in the six games.

UNC Asheville's leading hitter is Kyle Towles who is batting .390 (16-41) scoring 10 runs and knocking in six runs from the plate.  The sophomore infielder has started all 12 games for the Bulldogs and will look to lead his team to a series win against Temple.  Junior Robert McIntosh leads the team in homeruns (2) and RBI's (10) with a slugging percentage of .638.
