PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Two second-place finishes and three third-place finishes highlighted the Rutgers Invitational for the Temple men's indoor track and field team over the two-day meet, Jan. 10-11. It was the first meet in over a month for the team, and head coach Eric Mobley was pleased with the way the team came out strong.
"I thought it was a really good meet for us coming off the break," said Mobley. "It looks like people took the break to do what they were supposed to do. There were a lot of solid performances out there."
Sophomore Jamal Williams earned second place in the long jump with a mark of 6.69m, and freshman Thomas Johnson took second in the triple jump with a mark of 14.17m.
Freshman Joseph Ho ran a personal-record time of 8.75 to take third in the 60m hurdles.
After competing in the long jump on day one, Williams returned in the 60m dash on day two and ran a personal-record time of 7.12.
In the 200m dash, junior A.J. Singh took third place with a time of 22.80, and freshman Adam Hasan came in fifth place with a time of 22.83.
Junior Alex Izewski was the team's top distance runner at the meet, placing third in the 3000m with a time of 9:01.52.
