Women's Basketball Hits the Road for Two American Games This Week

THIS WEEK
Temple embarks on a two-game road trip. The first stop is USF on Tuesday, Jan. 7 for a 7 p.m. game at the Sun Dome.
The American Digital Network will televise the game live online with Bernie Guenther calling the action and Debbie Antonelli providing color analysis.
The Owls then head North to take on No. 1 Connecticut on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn. SNY will televise the game live at Noon with Eric Frede calling the action and Meg Culmo providing color analysis.
SCOUTING TEMPLE
The Owls, under sixth-year head coach Tonya Cardoza, stand 8-5 overall and 2-1 in American Athletic Conference play after a 75-54 win over UCF on Jan. 4.
After 13 games, freshman Feyonda Fitzgerald (Norfolk, Va.) is the Owls' leading scorer with 13.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Senior Natasha Thames (Port Huron, Mich.) follows with 13.5 ppg and 7.4 rpg. Sophomore Erica Covile (Detroit, Mich.) adds 10.5 and 6.2 rpg. Senior Shi-Heria Shipp (Salisbury, N.C.) rounds out the double figures with 10.3 ppg and 7.5 rpg. Junior Tyonna Williams (Fort Washington, Md.) also adds 9.9 points and a Conference-best .903 shooting from the free throw line.

The Bulls, under the guidance of 14th-year head coach Jose Fernandez, stand 7-7 overall and 2-1 in American play after a 76-62 win at SMU.
Sophomore guard Courtney Williams is the Bulls' top scorer with 14.6 ppg and 6.4 rpg. Junior guard Tamara Taylor follows with 10.1 ppg and 1.4 rpg, while sophomore forward Alisia Jenkins averages 9.8 ppg and a team-best 10.9 rpg.
