PHILADELPHIA - Two teams still looking for their first American Athletic Conference win will face each other at the Liacouras Center on Thursday night, as Temple (5-7, 0-2) hosts USF (9-6, 0-2) at 7:00 p.m. on ESPNU.
• The Owls are still looking for their first win in The American after close losses at Rutgers (71-66) and UCF (78-76).
• Will Cummings, who leads the team and ranks second in the league with 17.8 ppg, scored a career-high 31 points at UCF (9-of-14 FG's, 10-of-10 FT's).
• Anthony Lee (13.7 ppg) continues to lead the conference in rebounding (9.4 rpg), and has five double-doubles on the season - the last coming vs. Texas.
• Quenton DeCosey (15.5 ppg) scored a career-high 25 points at Rutgers and is the only Owl to have scored in double figures in all 12 games.
• Dalton Pepper (16.7 ppg) had an impressive streak in the second half at Rutgers, scoring all 19 of his points in a 19-10 run for the Owls.
• Temple is having one of its top offensive seasons, averaging 78.4 points per game. That would rank as the second best offensive output in program history.
• The Owls currently have four players averaging 13 or more points, a feat never done in the previous 116 seasons.
• On Dec. 21, the Owls scored 100 points for the first time since 2007 when they defeated LIU Brooklyn, 101-65.
• Temple and USF are meeting for the second time, with the first being a 58-44 win for the Bulls in the 2012 NCAA Second Round.
• USF is 9-6 overall, but has lost four of its last five, including conference home losses to #18/18 Memphis and Houston.
• Senior forward Victor Rudd, who scored 17 points against the Owls in 2012, leads the Bulls with 15.7 ppg and 7.1 rpg.
