Nicole Kroener Named to BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK - Temple senior Nicole Kroener has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for field hockey after strong performances in a 1-1 week for the 14th-ranked Owls. Temple came from behind to win its BIG EAST opener by a score of 4-3 at Providence on Oct. 3.
Kroener recorded a pair of assists in that win for the Owls, both on direct penalty corners. Temple's other game ended in a 2-0 loss to #9 Penn State, but Temple head coach Amanda Janney praised Kroener's effort both in that game and for the whole week. "Nicole had an amazing weekend for us," she said. "Even though she's a midfielder, her ability to shut down Penn State's #5 was huge, and that was a part of our game plan."
One of three team captains for Temple, Kroener played in every minute of both contests this past week.
The Owls are hosting two home games this upcoming weekend, starting with a 3:00 p.m. game against BIG EAST rival Villanova on Friday, Oct. 10.
