PHILADELPHIA - In the final Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll of the 2014 season, Temple field hockey has moved up to the No. 14 spot. The Owls, who recently finished the season at 14-7 overall, were ranked in the top 20 in all 10 regular-season polls this year.

Temple advanced to last weekend's BIG EAST Tournament Championship, where the Owls fell 4-1 to #3 UConn, the defending NCAA champs. To get to the final, the third-seeded Owls defeated #17 and second-seeded Old Dominion by a score of 2-1.

Four Owls were named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the weekend. Sophomore Katie Foran earned the honor after scoring a goal in both games, and she was joined by seniors Nicole Kroener, Lizzy Millen and Amber Youtz.

The three seniors were also honored last week by the BIG EAST for postseason awards, highlighted by Youtz's BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year Award. Kroener and Millen joined her on the BIG EAST First Team, while junior Alyssa Delp earned second team honors.

Youtz finished her career with 69 goals and 165 points to rank third all-time at Temple in both categories. She also recorded 27 assists to rank eighth all-time. Among all active players in NCAA Division I, Youtz is the career leader in both goals and points. She earned All-America Second Team honors and All-Region First Team honors as a junior, with those awards set to be released in the next few weeks for the 2014 season.

Millen ended her Temple career with 413 saves to rank sixth all-time at Temple, and Kroener recorded 29 assists to tie for fifth all-time.

Temple head coach Amanda Janney has taken her team to the conference tournament in all 10 years of her career, and with 114 wins, her first win of 2015 will tie her with Gwen Cheeseman-Alexander for the most all-time coaching wins in Temple field hockey.

The Owls did not earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament despite being ranked in the top 16 for the entire season.
