PHILADELPHIA - Four members of the No. 14 nationally ranked Temple field hockey team have been honored with selection to the 2014 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Region Teams. Seniors Lizzy Millen and Amber Youtz were named to the All-Region First Team, while junior Alyssa Delp and senior Nicole Kroener earned All-Region Second Team honors.

Sixteen student-athletes were named to both the Mid-Atlantic Region First Team and Second Team. Only the University of Maryland received more selections than Temple, while Princeton matched Temple with four honorees.

For Youtz, this marks the third All-Region honor of her career and second All-Region First Team honor. Millen, Delp and Kroener are all first-time All-Region selections.

Millen, a five-year veteran and team co-captain in 2014, had a truly outstanding career as Temple's starting goalkeeper for the past four seasons. She was an All-BIG EAST First Team honoree, a BIG EAST All-Tournament Team honoree and a Preseason All-BIG EAST selection this year. She played in all 84 games for Temple over the last four years, and with 413 career saves, she finished her career ranked sixth all-time in program history. This season, Millen had a 77.3 save percentage to lead the BIG EAST and rank eighth among all goalkeepers in NCAA Division I.

Youtz has earned numerous honors this season as well, including being named the 2014 BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year. She was also named to the BIG EAST First Team, BIG EAST All-Tournament Team, and Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. An All-America Second Team selection in 2013, Youtz went on to have an even more impressive final season with the Owls. She led all players in the nation for much of the season, finishing with 27 goals and 62 points. Her 69 career goals rank third all-time at Temple, and she ranks fourth all-time with 165 career points while ranking eighth all-time with 27 career assists. Youtz is the active career leader among all NCAA Division I players in both goals and points.

Delp was named to the BIG EAST Second Team this season, and finished the year with four goals and two assists for 10 total points. She played in all 21 games, starting in 18, and has played in all 62 games for Temple since her freshman year. In her career, Delp has amassed 17 goals and six assists for 40 total points. She was an Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team selection as a freshman.

Kroener served as a team co-captain in her final season, and is a four-year veteran who played and started in every single Temple game throughout her career. She recorded 30 career assists to rank fifth all-time in program history, and was second on the team with 10 assists this season. She was named to the BIG EAST First Team and the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team in her senior season, and finished her career with 58 total points by adding 14 goals to her 30 assists.

The Owls finished at 14-7 overall in 2014, and advanced to the BIG EAST Championship Game before losing to defending NCAA champ UConn. The Huskies have now advanced to the NCAA Semifinals where they will look for a second straight appearance in the title game.
