Rachael Mueller Named to BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK - Field hockey freshman Rachael Mueller has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll after an impressive performance against UConn on Nov. 1. #16 Temple ultimately lost 4-3 to the #4 Huskies, but Mueller scored twice in the contest against the defending BIG EAST and NCAA champs.

Scoring the second and third goals of the game in a three-minute span late in the first half, Mueller at one point gave the Owls a 3-1 lead. The goals were her fourth and fifth of the 2014 season. She scored on her only two shots of the game, getting two past UConn keeper Nina Klein who entered the game averaging a league-best 1.05 goals against average.

Temple is gearing up for this weekend's BIG EAST Conference Tournament, and will be the third seed of four teams. The Owls will face second-seeded Old Dominion at 1:00 p.m. in a semifinal on Friday, Nov. 7. Check back for more information in the coming days. To purchase tickets, click HERE.
