CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - In his first weekend back in action since last spring, Temple men's track and field senior Gabe Pickett won the triple jump at the Carolina Relays on the second day of the two-day meet. The Owls earned two IC4A-qualifying marks and had two runners record personal-bests.
Pickett's winning jump of 14.58m, an IC4A-qualifying mark, came on his sixth and final attempt.
Temple's 4x100m relay team of freshman Adam Hasan, junior Alimamy Kallay, sophomore Elijah Hargrove and freshman Joseph Ho placed second in an IC4A-qualifying time of 42.48.
Individually, Hasan placed fifth in the 100m dash in 11:08, and Ho placed eighth in the 110m hurdles in 15.92. Sophomore Jamal Williams was close behind Hasan in the 100m dash, coming in seventh in a personal-best time of 11.22. He was followed by Kallay, also with a time of 11.22, and Hargrove placed 12th in 11.36.
Freshman Jefferey Craskey finished fifth in the 800m run in a personal-best time of 2:00.89. Behind him was freshman Joseph Sulon in seventh (2:03.89) and senior Marcus Robertson in ninth (2:05.27).
Junior A.J. Singh came in ninth in the 400m with a time of 51.27. In the final event of the day, the men's javelin, sophomore Sean McAneney placed 11th with a throw of 49.56m.
