Gabe Pickett Takes Second in the Triple Jump at the Fred Hardy Invitational

RICHMOND, Va. - Senior Gabe Pickett improved on his first jump of the season from a week ago, taking second for Temple men's track & field in the triple jump on day one of the Fred Hardy Invitational. Pickett's jump of 14.98m was his second IC4A-qualifying mark already this outdoor season, and last week marked his return to action after not competing since last spring due to injury.

Two Temple runners set personal-bests in the final event of the day for the Owls, the 1500m. Sophomore Will Maltin placed 32nd in a personal-best time of 4:07.97, and sophomore Ryan DeBarberie placed 38th in a personal-best time of 4:11.31.

Junior Evan Battallio posted a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 15.27m.

The Owls will be back in action tomorrow, with field events starting at 9:00 a.m. and track events starting at 11:00 a.m. Follow all the action through the Fred Hardy Invitational website.
