Lizzy Millen Named Corvias ECAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. - To go with her BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honor, Temple's Lizzy Millen has now also been named the Corvias ECAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for Division I. This past weekend at the Conference Cup Tournament, Millen earned a pair of wins including a shutout victory against #10 UMass.Â
Millen was credited with both of Temple's wins in the opening weekend of play, boasting league-best marks of an .833 saves percentage and a 0.52 goals against average. She made two stops in a 4-2 win over Northeastern on Friday, before rejecting three shots against #10 UMass on Sunday en route to the 2-0 shutout victory. The blank sheet was the first for Temple against a ranked opponent since a 3-0 win over Penn State on Sept. 6, 2013.
