Women's Gymnastics faces #25 New Hampshire on the Road This Weekend

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's gymnastics travels to New Hampshire for a dual meet on Saturday to face the #24 Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams won in dual meets last weekend and will look to continue their winning ways.
Temple is coming off their first win of the season against Ursinus at home. The Owls edged the Bears by less than four-tenths of a point (189.9-189.575) in a tight contest between the two teams. Temple's set season highs in the total team score, vault (48) and bars (47.38). The Owls had higher scores than the Bears on all events but floor. Temple will look to continue to improve their scores against a ranked opponent this weekend.
Lauren Capone has been the only Owl gymnast to perform on all-around at all three meets this season. Capone nearly tied her career all-around high against Ursinus with a score of 38.025. She led the Owls on vault with a 9.7 and scored above at least a 9.5 on bars and beam.
Briana Odom participated on vault, beam and bars this past meet after competing on bars and beam the first two meets. Odom earned a score of 9.5 on vault in her first vault performance this season and registered a 9.6 on beam. She has earned a 9.5 or above on beam in all three meets.
Jasmine Johnson and Stephanie Verry both posted another set of solid scores on vault and floor, with Johnson scoring a 9.675 on vault and 9.8 on floor, which has improved at each meet since the start of the season. Verry topped her floor score from her first competition with a 9.75.
Alexis Arena has remained consistent on the beam, earning at least a 9.7 on the event in three meets this season.
Junior, Michaela Lapent, is coming off her best meet on the bars and beam. She posted the top bar score of both teams with a 9.75, and earned a 9.675 on a beam routine that ranked second overall behind Arena.
Victoria Reggiani is coming off her best meet of the season last weekend, as well. Reggiani has improved her scores in vault, bars and floor at each meet this season.
New Hampshire has the 24th best team average of 194.933 and done well on the balance beam with an average event score of 48.883 that ranks seventh best in the nation. The Wildcats are led by Meghan Pflieger, who averages a 39.042 on the all-around that includes averaging above a 9.8 on vault and balance beam. Casey Lauter is the other all-around performer, and she averages a 38.542.
