PHILADELPHA - Temple men's basketball will look to even its record when it hosts the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights Wednesday (7:00 p.m./ESPN3/1210 AM WPHT) at the Liacouras Center.
The Owls (2-3) posted a 69-50 decision against Delaware Sunday in their home opener and have now won 10 straight games in their home arena.
Senior guard Quenton DeCosey, who became the 51st Temple player to reach 1000 points in the win over Minnesota, leads head coach Fran Dunphy's Owls with a 14.2 scoring average. Sophomore forward Obi Enechionyia, who scored a team-high 16 points in the win over Delaware, averages 12 points while senior guard Devin Coleman rounds out the trio of double-figure scorers with an 11.2 average. Senior forward Jaylen Bond (9.8 ppg.) tops Temple in rebounding (7.6 ppg.) while junior guard Josh Brown (6.4 ppg,) is the Owls' assist leader (4.0 apg.).
Temple, which leads the nation in fewest turnovers per game (7.2 tpg.), utilizes a deep bench. Nine Owls have averaged nine minutes or more this season with only one player (Brown, 31.8 mpg.) above 30 minutes per game.
FDU, coached by Greg Herenda, is coming off a 91-61 loss at Princeton on Monday and enters the game with a 2-5 record. Sophomore guard Darian Anderson leads the Knights with a 14.0 scoring average while sophomore swingman Earl Potts, Jr. has scored one point less than Anderson (13.9 ppg.) and leads the team with a 6.1 rebound average.
This is the second meeting between the schools with the Owls defeating FDU, 63-51, at Madison Square Garden in the consolation game of the 1993 ECAC Holiday Festival.
