Field Hockey's Alyssa Delp Named Third Team All-American

PHILADELPHIA - Temple field hockey senior Alyssa Delp has capped her career with one of the top honors in the sport, being named a Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Third Team All-American. Delp adds the award to a list of others she has earned this season, including First Team All-Region and First Team All-BIG EAST.
"Alyssa had a break-out season this year," said Temple head coach Marybeth Freeman. "It can be attributed to her commitment to the game, consistent work rate and dedication to personal and team growth. Congratulations to her for receiving this terrific honor."
The region honor was Delp's second after being named to the NFHCA All-Region Second Team after her junior year. She was a unanimous selection to the 2015 BIG EAST First Team this season, and led Temple with 16 goals to rank third in the league. Delp racked up three total goals in the BIG EAST Tournament, the first of which she scored with less than two minutes remaining to tie the score in the Owls' semifinal against Villanova. She scored twice more in the Owls' BIG EAST Championship loss to UConn and was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team.
Delp finished her career with 33 goals to tie for 10th all-time in program history. Her five assists ranked second on the team this season, giving her 37 total points to rank fourth in the conference. Delp recently represented Temple at the NFHCA Division I Senior Game on Nov. 21, and helped lead her team to a 3-1 win in the contest.
In addition to her Longstreth/NFHCA honor, Delp was named to the All-America Second Team by Synapse Sports.
