Field Hockey Spring Season Underway; Owls Host Philly City 6 Tournament April 18

PHILADELPHIA - The Spring season is underway for the nationally ranked Temple field hockey team, with the highlight of the schedule being the upcoming Philly City 6 Tournament on April 18. The Owls will host Drexel, La Salle, Penn, Saint Joseph's and Villanova at Geasey Field in an all-day event.
The lineup of offseason games began on March 21 for Temple, as the Owls faced nationally ranked Penn State at The Spooky Nook in Lancaster, Pa. The following weekend, they stayed close to home for the Spring Play Day Tournament at Saint Joseph's.
On Friday, April 10, Temple will head to Maryland for a 6:00 p.m. match-up. The Terrapins, ranked second in the final NFHCA Top 20 Coaches Poll, advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in the fall. On April 11, Temple will continue the weekend by participating in a tournament at the University of Delaware.
The spring season will conclude on April 18 at home with the Philly City 6 Tournament.
The Owls finished the 2014 season with a record of 14-7, and were ranked 14th in the final NFHCA Poll. Temple advanced to the championship game of the BIG EAST Tournament before falling to eventual national champion Connecticut.Â
