Maddie Merton Named to BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK - For her outstanding efforts in leading Temple field hockey to a much-needed, 3-2 win against Quinnipiac in the Owls' only game of the week, freshman Maddie Merton has been named to the BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll.
Merton was involved in all three goals for Temple in the BIG EAST victory. She Temple's first and third goals and assisted on the second goal to record five total points. Merton's two goals came on her only two shots on goal in the contest.
With six goals in 2016, the rookie ranks second on the team in scoring. The conference honor is her first of the year.
Temple is playing its final BIG EAST game of the season at Liberty on Friday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. on ESPN3. With a win or an ODU loss to Providence the same day, the Owls will secure a spot in the four-team BIG EAST Tournament.
