10.3.16 | Field Hockey
PHILADELPHIA - Through an aggressive effort over the past few weeks leading up to its Oct. 2 game against Holy Cross, the Temple field hockey team was able to raise over $1,500 for the Go4TheGoal Foundation's Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer initiative. With $1,509 raised, the team place third in the Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer campaign.
Together with Temple women's soccer, the two teams gave a total of $1,859.00 to the Go4TheGoal Foundation.
"I'm very proud of the contributions our program, families, alums and friends of Temple hockey made for this cause," said head coach Marybeth Freeman. "We had an opportunity to help those less fortunate and we're happy to have collaborated with Holy Cross in our efforts. At the end of the day, it was a guaranteed win for those we were playing for."
Both teams wore gold laces in the game to show their support, and the two squads came together for a pre-game photo. Temple came out on top in the contest, shutting out Holy Cross 2-0 for the Owls' third straight win.
