Track & Field Travels to NC State for Raleigh Relays

PHILADELPHIA— Following a successful outdoor season-opener, Temple women's track and field will take a road trip to North Carolina State University this weekend for a two-day competition. The Raleigh Relays will begin on Friday, March 25 and conclude on Saturday, March 26. Across the two days of competition, the Owls will be running in 11 events including four different relays.

Jimmia McCluskey enters the weekend following two top finishes at the Philadelphia College Classic. McCluskey took the top mark in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.39 seconds and will be the only Owl running the event on Friday afternoon.

McCluskey also helped post the top mark in the 4x100-meter relay. Joined by Kenya Gaston, Courtney Mitchell and Bionca St. Fleur, the team ran a time of 47.75 to place first. The Owls will also be running the 4x400, 4x800 and 4x1500-meter relays on Saturday.

Also coming off top finishes St. Fleur, Simone Brownlee and Crystal Jones. St. Fleur dominated the 200-meter field with a time of 25.34 with Brownlee leading the way in the 100-meter hurdles. Both runners will be participating in the same events this weekend.

Jones picked up a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at her first outdoor collegiate competition with a time of 1:05.29. Jones, along with Maya Halprin-Adams, will be running the event again on Saturday.

Distance runner Katie Pinson kicked off her outdoor season with a personal-best performance in the 3000-meter run. Pinson posted a time of 10:01.83, less than one second from the school's outdoor record in the event.
