Record Turnout of Field Hockey Alumnae as Owls Wrap Up Spring Season

PHILADELPHIA - Over 40 Temple field hockey alums joined the Owls on April 17 for Alumnae Day, setting a record for attendance. The celebration of Temple's alums was the culmination of the Owls' spring season and held in conjunction with the Philly City 5 Tournament.
The current Temple players faced La Salle, Saint Joseph's, Drexel and Villanova, while the alums of each team also played against each other. Twenty-nine Temple alums dressed to play and won the championship among the alumnae teams.
At the conclusion of the days' games, everyone was invited to a post-game reception to connect, catch up and talk about the future of Temple field hockey.
"To have that many former hockey athletes come back and show their support of our program, current players and staff was inspiring," said Temple head coach Marybeth Freeman. "My hope is that our current student-athletes have the same qualities of pride, passion and enthusiasm towards the program as those who played before them. It was an amazing day overall and I'm proud to be a part of it."
