Former UConn Standout Chrissy Davidson Joins Field Hockey Staff

PHILADELPHIA - Chrissy Davidson, a 2015 University of Connecticut graduate, will join Temple head coach Marybeth Freeman's field hockey staff as a volunteer assistant in 2016.
"Chrissy is a tremendous athlete with an excellent hockey IQ," said Freeman. "Having her work with our staff and on the field with our athletes will diversify the way we think and elevate our level of play. Chrissy's previous successes as one of the best NCAA midfielders in the country and her USA National Team experience will only prove beneficial for our athletes here at Temple. She comes from a terrific family and we are excited to welcome them all into ours here at TU."
Davidson was an All-American as a senior at UConn, leading the Huskies to national championships in each of her final two seasons. She was named to the all-region first team as a senior and second team as a junior, matching those honors within the BIG EAST Conference. In 2014-15 as a senior at UConn, Davidson was also a member of the U.S. National Team.
"I am extremely excited for the opportunity to be a part of the Temple Field Hockey program as a volunteer for the 2016 season," said Davidson. "I look forward to being involved with a program under a coaching staff that has so much to offer on and off the field. I am truly looking forward to learning and growing on a personal level as a player and a coach within the Temple family!"
In her senior season, Davidson tied for the team lead with 12 assists to go with three goals, recording one of those assists in the only goal of a 1-0 NCAA semifinal win against Albany. She again played an integral role in the only goal of UConn's 1-0 win against Syracuse in the national championship game. Davidson also tallied 12 assists in 2013, and finished her career at UConn with 37 total assists.
