PHILADELPHIA - In its final game of the season, Temple field hockey (4-14) fell 4-1 to visiting Lafayette (7-11) on a wet and rainy afternoon. It was the last career game for the Owls' five seniors - Maiyah Brown, Sarah Keer, Ashley Kucera, Hattie Kuhns and Rachael Mueller.

Keys to the Game
> Lafayette earned a total of 12 penalty corners to the Owls' four, and was able to get goals off two of those opportunities.
> Total shots favored the Leopards 20-11, while shots on goal were 13-6.
> It was a scoreless game for nearly 25 minutes until Lafayette's Audrey Sawers scored on a rebound after a breakaway for the Leopards.
> Temple trailed just 1-0 at halftime, but allowed a second Lafayette goal four and a half minutes into the second period.
> The Owls answered quickly, with sophomore Lucy Reed taking a rebound on a shot by freshman Dani Batze that was initially saved by Lafayette. Reed's goal came just 30 seconds after the Leopards' second goal.
> In the 47th minute, Lafayette made it 3-1 on a corner, and scored its final goal also on a corner in the 65th minute.

Game Notes
> Temple junior goalkeeper Chloe Johnson made nine saves for the Owls, while Sarah Park had five for Lafayette.
> The goal for Reed was her second of the season and career.
> The rain at Howarth Field was heavy at times, and nearly constant throughout the contest.
