TOWSON, Md. – Temple women's gymnastics continued its consistency in the 2017 season hitting a 193.57 at Towson's Shelli Calloway Invitational. The score is the Owls' third highest team score of the year and was led by junior Sahara Gipson's career-high day in the all-around. Overall, Temple placed fourth behind Towson, UNC and West Virginia inside the Tigers' SECU arena on Sunday afternoon.

Starting out strong on bars, the Owls were able to grab their second-highest event total with a 48.6. Freshman Daisy Todd picked up her second score of 9.825 for the season to lead the lineup. Reagan Oliveri was able to post a new season high with a 9.75 that was followed closely by Kerry Arone's 9.7. Breahna Wiczkowski, Yasmin Eubanks and Gipson added scores of 9.675, 9.65, and 9.625, respectively.

The Owls saw a small dip as they moved to beam. Overall, the team notched a 47.775 and was highlighted by Wiczkowski's 9.825 that tied for the third best spot of all beam competitors of the afternoon. The score is both a new career high for the sophomore and the highest beam score of the season from any Owl. Whitney King was able to bump up her own season high with a 9.775. Gipson and Oliveri posted scores of 9.575 and 9.55 respectively Todd's uncharacteristic 9.05 rounded out the counting scores on the event.

The floor lineup was able to post the Owls' second-highest event total of the season with a 48.525. Both Briana Odom and Gipson were able to notch scores of 9.775 with Jaylene Everett adding a 9.75 in the leadoff spot. Oliveri posted a solid 9.625 with Todd and Eubanks wrapping up the scores with marks of 9.6 and 9.5, respectively.

Temple saved the best for last with a vault rotation that posted a 48.675. Gipson earned the highest score for the Owls with a 9.8 to cap off an afternoon in the all-around. Everett and Todd were close behind adding a pair of 9.775 stuck performances. Eubanks remained consistent in her vault efforts with a 9.675. Sophomore Aya Mahgoub completed the counting scores for the lineup with a 9.65.

Gipson's 38.775 performance in the all-around stands as a new career high for the junior. In a competitive field of all-around gymnasts, Gipson was able to place fifth. With a miss on beam, Todd ended her all-around performance with a 38.25.

The Owls will hit the road again next weekend for a Sunday dual at the University of New Hampshire. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.
