Women's Gymnastics to Face Nationally Ranked Opponent #27 New Hampshire on the Road

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's gymnastics is set to hit the road this weekend for their second dual meet of the season against the University of New Hampshire Wildcats who are hosting their annual "Stick It for the Cure meet". The Owls will face off against the 27th-ranked wildcats in Durham, N.H. for a 12:45 p.m. competition inside Lundholm Gym. Currently holding the top four team scores in program history, Temple looks to bring even more success this weekend.
On Sunday, the Owls will kick off the meet on bars where the team had a strong showing last weekend. The bar squad, who is currently ranked first in the conference with an average of 48.317, was led by Freshman Daisy Todd picking up her second score of 9.825 for the season. Reagan Oliveri was also able to post a new season high on the event with a 9.75 that was followed closely by Kerry Arone's 9.7.
Breahna Wiczkowski is also coming off a record-setting weekend. The sophomore posted a 9.825 on beam for a new career high and the highest beam score of the season from any Owl.
The Owls now hold a team average of 193.113 and rank first in the conference. The vault team leads the ECAC with an average of 48.588, more than four tenths ahead of second-place vault team William & Mary.
Individually, Sahara Gipson ranks second in the all-around in the ECAC and is ranked 12th in the North East region. Gipson is also ranked first on vault in the conference and 10th in the region with an average of 9.775. Todd leads the conference on bars with an average of 9.737 and is ranked 11th regionally.
The hosting Wildcats will enter Sunday's competition after a road victory at Bowling Green State University. The Wildcats posted a 194.7 to Bowling Green's 193.85 improving their record to 10-2 for the season. UNH is currently ranked second in the North East region with a team average of 194.796. Senior Meghan Pflieger ranks fifth in all-around regionally averaging a 38.875.
In the all-time series, the Wildcats lead 15-0. The last meeting between the two squads was in 2015 at New Hampshire where the Wildcats topped the Owls 194.150-189.225.
