PHILADELPHIA – The Temple University men's cross country squad put on an impressive performance Friday morning, winning the Army West Point Open to capture its second straight team victory of the season. The Owls thrived off of patience and focus, dominating the challenging 7,600-meter course at Bowdoin Park.

Manhattan came next with 107 points, followed by Marist who scored 149 and St. Bonaventure who tallied 166 points on the day.

From the Coach
> "I was really pleased with the way our pack responded when the race took a unique form," head coach James Snyder explained, referring to the Army West Point men's cross country squad pushing the pace early on. "The guys trusted their fitness and remained patient, letting the race come to them. We are really strong right now and have been training at a high level, but to see the guys control the mental aspect of the race so strategically was impressive."
> Snyder spoke on how the Owls exceeded expectations on the course today, despite the challenges that came their way. "To win the way we did is indicative of the work that our athletes have put in, and this meet was definitely a step in the right direction for us. Moving forward, we look to continue focusing on the little things in order to provide ourselves with the best opportunity to be successful."

Owls Dominate
> Junior Zach Seiger had an impressive performance today, leading a Temple trio that swept the top three, finishing first with a time of 23:51.6.
> Louis Corgliano finished right behind Seiger, earning second place and crossing the finish line at 23:53.7. Corgliano played a crucial role for the Owls today, as he broke away from the pack about 3.5 miles into the race, stretching the competition thin and allowing Temple to pace into its final 2,000 meters.
> Less than two seconds later, junior Kevin Lapsansky earned a third place finish after running the course in 23:55.4. Lapsansky has proven to be a steady competitor for the Owls, consistently finishing in the front pack.
> Two other Owls finished in the top 10, as Anton Harrsen earned fifth and Kristian Jensen finished eighth. The sophomore pair finished just six seconds apart, with Harrsen clocking a time of 24:01.4, and Holm Jensen crossing the line at 24:07.9
