Gymnastics Competes at UNH Quad Meet

DURHAM, N.H.— Temple women's gymnastics faced UNH, Bridgeport and Pitt in a quad meet matchup on Friday night. The Owls scored a 191.950, taking fourth place behind UNH (194.925), Pitt (193.725) and Bridgeport (193.575). Sophomore Monica Servidio and freshman Ariana Castrence went one-two in the all-around competition, with Servidio taking the title and Castrence placing second.
Beam
> The Owls started off the meet on beam, tallying a 47.45 team score.
> Freshmen Taylor Newland and Ariana Castrence both scored 9.65, while sophomore anchor Monica Servidio finished strong, earning a team-high 9.8.
Floor
> The Owls tallied a 48.225 on their second event of the night.
> Erica Fuchs and Newland's routines each scored a 9.55 in the first half of the Temple lineup.
> Servidio continued her strong start from beam, scoring a 9.725 on floor. Castrence and India Anderson rounded out the lineup, earning a 9.6 and 9.8, respectively.
Vault
> Temple recorded a 48.575 on vault, its highest event total of the night.
> Tori Edwards and Servidio paced the Owls with a 9.625 and a 9.725, respectively.
> Yasmin Eubanks and Jazmyn Estrella kept the momentum going through the middle of the lineup, scoring a 9.6 and a 9.725.
> Jaylene Everett and Castrence put up matching scores, both earning a 9.75 to conclude the event for the squad.
Bars
>The Owls wrapped up the meet on bars with a 47.8.
> Daisy Todd and Castrence tied for the team-high on bars for Temple, both scoring an impressive 9.725.
All-Around
> Servidio and Castrence competed in the all-around for the Owls. For the second week in a row, the pair went one-two in the event. Servidio took the title, scoring a 38.8. Castrence was close behind, taking second place with a 38.725.

> "Adjustments will need to be made this week," said head coach Josh Nilson. "The season is young and we have a lot of opportunities to turn it around. It was one meet and we have ten more to go. We can definitely learn from this."
