Women’s Basketball to Play Creighton for Second Game in Cancun

CANCUN, Mexico -- The Temple women's basketball team will play their second and final game of the Cancun Challenge tonight, Nov. 29, at 9 p.m. against Creighton at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. 

THE OWLS
> The Owls enter their second game in Cancun after a 71-58 loss to North Carolina. 
> Freshman Asonah Alexander led Temple with her first career double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Alexander added five assists, a block and a steal in the loss. The rookie leads the Owls with 35 assists on the year.
> Temple is led by forward Mia Davis, who averages 19.7 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. The junior is currently shooting a team-best 49.5% from the field.  
> Ashley Jones adds 17.7 points per game for the Owls, along with dishing out 33 assists thus far. Jones adds 5.7 rebounds per game.
> Rounding out the double-digit scorers for Temple is sophomore Marissa Mackins with her 10.4 points per game. The Durham, N.C. native leads the Owls with 17 three-pointers. 

LAST TIME OUT: North Carolina 71, Temple 58.
> North Carolina outscored the Owls 42-20 in the first half, forcing the Owls to spend the rest of the game working to cut the lead. 
> Madinah Muhammad led all players with 20 points after knocking down four shots from beyond the arc. 
> Temple was called for 30 fouls, allowing the Tar Heels to go 24-for-37 from the line. 
> North Carolina recorded seven triples for a 43.8% three-point percentage while Temple shot a season-low 10% from three-point range.
> The Owls pulled down a season-best 50 rebounds to hold the edge on the boards. 
> Alexander registered her first career double-double as she led the Owls with 16 points and 11 rebounds. The rookie added a game-high of five assists.
> Jones added 15 points while Shannen Atkinson chipped in 10 points and recorded three blocks for Temple. 
> Lena Niang registered a career-best nine rebounds in the loss. 

SCOUTING CREIGHTON
> The Bluejays enter tonight's game following an upset of No. 23 West Virginia. Creighton topped the Mountaineers 82-75 on Thanksgiving.
> Jaylyn Agnew led all players with 34 points, including six three-pointers. Agnew currently averages 20.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. 
> Tatum Rembao recorded a season-best 10 assists along with 19 points in the upset for the Bluejays. Rembao and teammate Olivia Elger both average 10.3 points per game for Creighton. 
> Temi Carda also averages in double digits for the Bluejays, adding 11.3 points per game.
> Creighton averages 68.7 points per game while holding their opponents to 62.2. However, opponents are outshooting the Bluejays 41.3% to 39.2% from the field. 
> Their 63 three-pointers on the year currently ranks second in the Big East behind No. 16 DePaul. 

TEMPLE VS. CREIGHTON
> Tonight's game will be the first ever meeting between the two programs.
