Gymnastics Posts a 194.050 in Dual Meet against Southern Utah

CEDAR CITY, Utah—Temple women's gymnastics (7-10, 1-1 ECAC) fell 196.575-194.050 in a dual meet matchup against Southern Utah (3-3, 1-2 MRGC) on Friday night.
Bars
> The Owls recorded a 48.4 on bars to open up the meet.
> Junior Daisy Todd led off the lineup with a solid 9.675. Sophomore Tori Edwards and freshman Ariana Castrence both scored a 9.725 to tie for the team-high on the event.
Vault
> Temple scored a 48.625 on vault, which ties its highest team score on the event this season.
> Edwards and junior Yasmin Eubanks started the rotation strong for the Owls, both notching season-bests. Edwards posted a 9.65 and Eubanks recorded a 9.7.
> Todd made her season debut on vault with a 9.725 and sophomore Monica Servidio matched that score in the fourth spot.
> Junior Jaylene Everett scored a team-high 9.775 and Castrence rounded out the lineup with an impressive 9.7.
Floor
> Temple had its best showing on floor, as the team scored a 48.775 on the event.
> Servidio and Castrence put on big performances for the Owls, scoring 9.75 and 9.775, respectively.
> Edwards and senior India Anderson tied for third place on floor, each earning a 9.85 for their superb routines.
Beam
> The squad finished the night off on beam, scoring a 48.25.
> Freshman Taylor Newland started off for Temple, posting a career-best 9.725.
> Sophomore Jordyn Oster and Servidio were also strong for the Owls. Oster recorded a 9.7 and Servidio tallied a 9.725.
> Castrence posted the team-high on the event, earning a stellar 9.8.
All-Around
> Castrence and Servidio competed in the all-around for Temple. Castrence took second place with a 39.00 and Servidio earned third with a 38.85.
From the Coach
> "The grit of the team continues to impress me," said head coach Josh Nilson. "The results aren't quite there yet and we're still not hitting all the goals we want to accomplish, but we just keep fighting. It's going to come together. They are such a gritty team and we overcame a lot. We're home next week and it'll be great to perform in front of our crowd."
