2.8.19 | Men's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA - An early tip time of 11 a.m. Central / Noon Eastern is in store for Temple men's basketball at Tulsa on Saturday, Feb. 9 (ESPNU / 1210 AM WPHT). The Owls (17-6, 7-3) are coming off back-to-back wins while the Golden Hurricane (13-10, 3-7) have lost four of their last five.
Scouting Temple
> Temple is coming off one of its best offensive performances of the season, with five players reaching double figures in scoring as the Owls took down UConn, 81-63. Temple shot a season-best 62 percent in the first half while scoring a season-high 46 first-half points. Senior Shizz Alston, Jr. led the way with 18 points and five assists.
> In his third career start, sophomore Justyn Hamilton scored 11 first-half points on his way to a career-high 13 points in the UConn win, hitting 6-of-7 field goals.
> The Owls have now won two straight after previously suffering back-to-back losses. Alston was also the leader in Temple's 75-67 win at Tulane on Feb. 2, scoring 29 points including 14-of-15 free throws. It was the most free throws by an Owl in a single game since Khalif Wyatt made 15 vs. Duquesne on Feb. 14, 2013.

> The Owls did defeat then-#17/15 Houston in the first meeting this season at home on Jan. 9, making it 12 seasons in a row that Temple has defeated a Top 25 program. Temple remains the only team to defeat the Cougars this season.
> Alston and Rose average 18.3 and 16.9 points per game, respectively, to lead the team and rank fourth and seventh in the American Athletic Conference. Alston has scored 20 or more points nine times this season and has earned two co-AAC Player of the Week awards.
> Sophomore Nate Pierre-Louis has scored in double figures in 17 games this season and ranks third on the team with 13.9 points per game.
