3.11.19 | Field Hockey

GILBERT, Ariz. - The Temple field hockey program prides itself on its academic success, and once again the Owls have been honored with a Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award.

"We are extremely proud of the team for their efforts in the classroom this past fall," said head coach Susan Ciufo. "The ability to show tremendous effort in everything they do is admirable! We're looking forward to another successful semester in the classroom this spring!"

Temple is one of 76 teams across the country to earn the honor. The Division I National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2018-19 school year.

The Owls were well above the mark, earning a semester GPA of 3.53 in the fall. Temple is currently sporting a team cumulative GPA of 3.55, which is the highest in program history.

Three Division I academic awards remain to be announced — the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Academic Squad will be announced on March 18, the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Scholars of Distinction on March 25 and the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete on April 1.
