Scouting Temple
The Owls (11-6, 2-4 BIG EAST) look to finish the season strong after splitting a weekend against nationally ranked foes. Temple fell to No. 7 Liberty, 3-2, in a shootout before closing its home slate with a 2-1 Senior Day victory over Yale at Howarth Field.
With a goal against Yale, Peyton Rieger now has 25 points this season — the most by an Owl in a single campaign since 2015. The Woolwich, N.J., native leads the conference with four game-winning goals.
Temple's offense ranks among the best in the BIG EAST, sitting second in both points per game and goals per game while ranking 25th nationally in scoring (2.53 goals per game). The Owls are balanced offensively, with four players among the top 18 point-getters in the conference.
Freshman Lucia Magro earned her fourth conference recognition of the season on Tuesday, landing on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after scoring both of Temple's goals against nationally ranked Liberty. The Buenos Aires, Argentina, native ranks second on the team in goals (7) and points (16) and stands second among BIG EAST freshmen in points, trailing only Quinnipiac's Rozemarijn van Keulen (16). Her 16 points are the most by a Temple freshman since Alyssa Delp tallied 18 on nine goals in 2012. Magro has twice earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week and twice received Weekly Honor Roll honors.
A win would give the Owls their 19th season in program history with at least 12 victories.
